Hello to anyone who reads this,
i need some severe help and i dont know what to do, its driving me NUTS! and its sorta scarying me .I built a computerabout 7 months ago, heres what i gots

Asus P4P800-E deluxe motherboard
256mb geforce graphics gard
1024 ram
lots of fans

Ive been using my computer for about 6 months now, but suddenly its been shuting off by itself a few times , here and there, so i thought it was over heating, i installed another cooling system, but then it started getting worse, shutting off alot. Now when i start my computer, i reseve this message " Bad BIOS checksum" so i placed the ASUS motherboard cd in, and it says "earasing ect." then it tells me to shut off the power then restart to get bios backup.... so i do and it goes through the same process again with the whole BAD BIOS CHECKSUM.....

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT, i dont know what to do, or what is wrong with my computer...

We can certainly look certain places for this error cause. However, it can be very tricky to solve:

There can be several reasons for a bad checksum error.

1) Bad battery....will not hold the settings you have. (I would ALWAYS try to replace that battery as a first thing to try)

2) Faulty BIOS upgrade (flash) that did not get completed. Can retry to flash your BIOS as per your motherboard manual.

3) A bad video card (see if you can borrow one that matches your specs

4) A memory issue (try one stick only if you have two)

5) An actual bad BIOS (not very common)

you can reset your bios!
To reset your bios turn off the pc and locate the reset jumper (consult the manual or look for a jumper with RESET written next to it)
Move the jumper to it's reset position, turn the pc on for about 5 seconds, turn it off again, put the jumper back to its normal position, and then restart the pc. all the bios will be reset.

Thanks for the suggestion a nobody .. But that will not help in the checksum error...
