There's a fan on the motherboard in cylindrical metal (with wires into the motherboard), not the CPU cooler on the CPU, im not entirely sure what it is, being new to hardware, but the fan in that isn't running.

Sure, you are in the UK right?

This is a great site for PC parts: www.overclockers.co.uk

The sort of thing you should be looking at: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...Coolers_1.html

Come back to us for purchasing advice and fitting advice (if you need it )

EDIT: Sorry, just re-read you post  it sounds like you're looking for a northbridge cooler and with the fan stopped that is going to effect your system!! You will find northbridge coolers on the site I gave you above

Thanks, i'll probably get a new cooler, but do you know what the other thing i said about on the motherboard is? A flat cylindrical disc with a fan in it, not sitting on the CPU but its kinda next to it. Made by 1bit, which is the make of my motherboard, so presumably its a motherboard part.
