ok, here's the problem. . Every single program i open closes up in sec's. For example, winamp, norton antivirus, spyboy, ad-aware. . even when i'm doing online scaning it will just shut off and bring me back to my desktop. I decided to Format. So i tranferred all my files to my other pc thru networking. It cancled that to in a few minutes.

I tried logging in into safemode but it hangs halfway thru. I can't restart but i can only turn off.
It's pretty weird. I know you guys would say it's best that i run HIJACKTHIS and post in my log.. but the thing is. . Would It even run????? I can't even install any programs either as that too would get shut off.

Only things that seems to be working is. .? window media player, real player and my internet.

Plz help me out here guys. . My data is somehow my life man. . i'd really be a goner.

Welcome to the forums JMax

First things first, is your system overheating, check all the fans in your system (case/motherboard/power supply).
It sounds like it could be heat related so get those checked out.

Did you manage to format your machine or didn't you proceed because you couldn't network your files?

If you did not proceed then you could remove your hard drive from your machine, set the jumper to slave, and then stick it into the machine where you were going to network the information to.
You can then use explorer to copy any of your files that you need off.

Once you have done that you can format and reload the system, it does sound like it needs it.

Hey! thanks.

The thing is. . i don't usually off my cpu. . Maybe it'll be off around 7 - 10 times in a month other then that it'll be 24/7.

I've checked the fans 2 days back when this problem occured. All 3 of em seems to be working fine.. even the little graphic fan is workin. At first i suspected it could be overheated. But now i guess.. it's either hardware problem or a serious spread out virus. I'm not really handy with bios stuff and switching of harddrive cause i don't really have the confidents for that.

This is what i'm gonna do. . I'm going to try to transfer an unzip version of hijackthis from my other cpu and try to run it. But i doubt it'll work.
If that fails then i guess i'm gonna need serious help.

I'll be back with my update hopefully on this coming saturday guys. Right now i'm going back to camp on my attached shift till this weekend.

Man! The things you gotta sacrifice for your Nation. . :|

Good luck on the camp and good luck with the PC.

You could also try to load anti-spyware software, if your PC allows it.

Remember if it does come down to possibly having to remove the hard drive and place it in your other machine, we can give you step by step instructions (with pictures if needed) on how to do it.
It's easier than it sounds, nothing can go wrong.

Zimbo: I am going to try to learn from this and help at the same time. Is there anyway the motherboard or some other critical component isn't getting enough power?

That is kind of possible "Yes" spacekid, but I think that would be down to a faulty power supply.
They do say that faulty power supplies cause up to 70% of all computer related problems. (had some instructor tell me that years ago).

In this case it sounds more like a corrupt windows, we wait and see what JMax comes back with and we can always look into that option.
