Something must be stuck in it or print jobs in que messing it up.

Info:
general error, message says"Delete all print jobs and turn the printer off. Remove any foreign objects from inside the printer. After a few minutes, turn the printer back on." note: no foreigh objects inside printer

I'd try to manually feed a bit of paper through it and see if some thing is stuck in paper path.

another thought check the paper sensor are all free is one is stuck up it will give the same problem thinking paper is stuck but it's not.

Hello, the error you mention is the same one.

I will try to do that in the morning, although I suspect the printer wont allow me to feed paper through. The error occurs before the carriage successfully moves into position after checking procedure.

do the cartridges go to the position where you can remove them on the error, or are they at the capping unit/purge pump end of the printer?

I haven't put any cartridges in since the error started, I've tried with and without.
