Question How do I print via Wireless?

Hi,
Is it possible to print to an HP All in One C5180 via my Wireless Router from an HP zd9000 Series Laptop which runs on XP Home Premium.
If so how do I configure it?
Keith

Welcome back Keith!

While I'm not real sure on the wireless things, I certainly know ones here who are!

I'll mark this open to get things rolling.

Thanks for your patience

Hi Sir Trews,
Yes it's me again.
As you know the HP Vista laptop has a hard drive problem.
Haven't replaced the hard drive yet - No hurry as I want to get it right this time - so I am still mulling over whether to change brand and DIIRE has recommended Toshiba or Asus.
You have a Toshiba don't you - Do you recommend it?
The reason for my Wireless / Printer question is I am using the older HP XP laptop at the moment and it would be handy if I could print via wireless rather than USB cable but don't know whether the C5180 supports printing by wireless.
Cheers,
Keith

Hi Keith,

Yes, you should be able to print to the printer if you connect it via ethernet cable to your wireless router. You cannot connect it wirelessly but if it's connected to the router by ethernet any pc on the network will be able to print to it if you set them up to.

The disc that comes with the printer will set it up on the network for you - so you shouldn't have any problems getting it running.

Hi Keith, shouldn't be a problem, just plug the Printer in. Now on the computer you installed the printer on:

Click Start and then click Control Panel.
Click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Printers and Faxes.
In the Printers and Faxes folder, click the printer's icon and, in the tasks pane, click Share This Printer.
opene the printer's Properties dialog box, and click on the Sharing tab.
click Share, and then clicked OK.
That's it.

Now that you mention it *can see DIIRE's eyes rolling now*

Yes, I do indeed have a Toshiba.. would I recommend? Yes! You know my specs on this from up there ^, so it really depends upon what you want.
Newegg is where I got it, and all the other things that I've added to it.
I've upped the ante in the RAM area already, and it wasn't at all bad on price. I didn't have to as the 3G (upgradeable to 8G) it came with was working just fine, but I want to get that little extra, if I can.
Installed with Vista 32bit, but you can opt for 64bit.. it handles it well from the reviews I've checked on.
My only real concern to date has been the touchpad.. it's, well.. too touchy. There is alot more if you decide to go that way.
Watching this as I want to see the answer to your dilemma too!
Good seeing ya Keith!
