guys

I just need to ask you very quick question if I want to set up my HP lazerset 6L network connected throgh so I can print from wirless lap top please let me know printer has only parallel port

Hi

You could get a Jetdirect box connected via the parallel cable and then from that, networked via a wireless router. I had a quick look (you may search deeper) for a wireless print server with parallel connectivity..this would be the cleanest option for you.

Something like those would work or:

Play.com (UK) : Belkin USB Parallel Printer Adapter : Computing - Free Delivery

and

Edimax PS-1216U one port USB combo print server (GDI Printer compatible) - Scan.co.uk

Note that both options end up about the same price. ITs a lot cheaper than a JetDirect card...they are between £200 and £300...rip off.

I need to aks your favor if I want to connect my printer from parallel port to usb port my laptop s it going to work? please let me know if yes then which printer cable should I buy it?

Buy any, they all do the same thing. If you are unsure, get a well known brand like Netgear or Belkin etc.

It will work fine with the adapter. Just install the drivers first from the CD or from the manufacturer's website if you don't have it.

NOTE: You will need either a print server with parallel support or an parallel to USB adapter and then a standard USB print server.
