Yeah, you should be fine with both connections as long as your not printing at the same time from that printer. A quick test in either case would be to simply remove the USB cable, reset the printer and then try printing from LPT again? If not I'll talk you through resolving your LPT problem if you like?

oh the joys of I.T, after what you said I went and check the cables, were plugged in correctly and surprise, surprise, the person who plugged in the lpt, did not flip the little metal clips up so it came loose. I feel a bit of a homer simpson "Doh!" coming on. Cheers for the help though.
