Pending: USB flash drive not showing contents

I have recently had a virus on my flash drive and removed the infected files with an antvirus software, being careful not to delete the files I needed to keep. However, on using the device now, the flash drive appears to be empty, even though I have ensured that all hidden files are shown in the folder options settings. I thought that perhaps I had deleted all the files by mistake but the device properties says it is 3/4 full, implying all my files are still on it, but I just can´t find them!
Does anyone have any ideas please?

Hi sw3 and welcome to PC Help Forum

This is a little strange, my first suggestion is to test the USB flash drive in another PC and see if it shows the same free capacity and whether or not you can see your files.

I'm having the same problem.
I have an ativa 8gb flash drive, with priceless movie and picture files on it. One day, it just stopped working. When you open it, there are no files on it. But when you go into properties, it shows that there is 4.09gb free out of 7.45gb. I've defragmented, ran virus scans, and checked the disc and everything comes back saying it's good to go and in great working order, even though I know this is not the case. I don't know what else to do, and I absolutely do not want to reformat it because of what I know is on there.
