OK, let's try the registry edit fix. It is extremely important that you follow my instructions exactly. Making changes to your registry, without knowing what to change, can cause major problems with your computer.
Before beginnig this fix, you must make a back-up of your registry. To do this go to Start, Run, and type in Regedit.exe, press OK.
Once in Registry editor, Highlight My Computer, click on File, Export. Name the file today's date. Save the file to a place you can easily locate it if there is a problem, most often the desktop. Hit Save. Close Regisrty Editor.
Now you can begin the fix, courtesy of Microsoft:
1.Click
Start,
Run, type services.msc, and then click
OK.
2.Double-click
Logitech Process Monitor.
3.In
Startup type, select
Disabled.
4.Under
Service status, click
Stop, and then click
OK.
5.Close Services.
6.Click
Start, click
Run, type regedit.exe, and then click
OK.
Note You might not find all the following subkeys or entries. However, you should find at least one.
7.In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET001\CONTROL\CL ***\6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F
If the right pane contains
Lower filters: lvmvdrv, right-click this entry, and then click
Delete.
8.In Registry Editor, locate and then delete the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET001\SERVICES\L VMVDRV
9.Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSYTEM\CONTROLSET003\CONTROL\C LASS\6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F
If the right pane contains
Lower filters: lvmvdrv, right-click this entry, and then click
Delete.
10.Locate and then delete the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET003\SERVICES\L VMVDRV
11.Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CLASS\ 6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F
If the right pane contains
Lower filters: lvmvdrv, right-click this entry, and then click
Delete.
12.Locate and then delete the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVIC ES\LVMVDRV
13.Close Registry Editor.
14.Click
Start, click
Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click
OK.
15.In Device Manager, expand
Imaging Devices, right-click
Microsoft LifeCam, and then click
Uninstall.
16.On the
Action menu, click
Scan for hardware changes. If you are prompted to update the drivers, click
Yes.
