Angry Network blues

I have an emachine that I can't get it to get online. Put a new NIC card to replace the onboard one. Worked just fine at my house, but when I took it back to my friends, she couldn't get online. She has broadband and the modem (SB5100) shows all the lights with computer activity, but when I try to ping the modem, it times out. Replaced the CAT5 cable and even had her take the modem and trade it in. STILL can't get online. Any ideas?

Default Re: Network blues

It may be that the ip address is incorrect.

Click Start > Control Panel > Network Connections.

Right click the connection > Select Properties > Scroll through the list to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Click Properties.

Make sure there it is set to get IP address and DNS server automatically. Click OK > Click OK. Check if you can connect to the internet now.

If not Click Start > Run > type: cmd > Click OK.
At the prompt type: ipconfig/all
Please copy and paste the information listed there in your next post.
