If you are using WAP to secure your wireless then you will need to change the laptop accodingly.
Most routers are set to channel 6. As this is middle of the frequency in the US. If you are having conflicts (ie..cordless phone, near by router, ect.) then changing channels helps. If your PSP is near your router then I see no benifit to changing.
