It can be done-- but if you are plugging into an ethernet connection, USB 1.1 transfer rate is only 1.5 MB/sec-- it won't be a speed demon.
Better'n dialup though. Of course the speed and amount of
RAM will matter too.
When we first got hi-speed net around here-- I had an old PC-- which could just barely creep on.... there was actually a
minimum limit--It was an old HP running a whopping 48MB of
RAM and Windows '95--It landed in the recycler pile inside of a week. Took several minutes just to load the home page.
