Default [Answered] Serial mouse and XP

My laser mouse has bitten the dust and I'm presently using another PS/2 mouse with a trackball in it, but I need that one for something else and it's inconvenient to be unplugging it to use with two computers. I have a Serial mouse and I was wondering if I could use it on this computer with Windows XP, or would I have to install some drivers first (or would it not even work at all...)?
This is only temporary until I get a new laser mouse.

Hi Zachery,if it is cable connect mouse then usaly drivers are already installed for the mouse via XP.

A uninstall of drivers for your lazer mouse maybe required.

Depending on the brand drivers maybe required.

Plug in mouse, reboot PC and see what happens.

Although my USB mouse for laptop did require drivers.

Okay. For the record though, it is a cable connect Microsoft brand mouse.

I'll try that now...

It worked, but I realized the serial mouse didn't have the middle button (the rubber thing), which I like, so I decided to use the serial mouse for my other PC.
Thanks!
