PS2 & USB Keyboard Problems
Rebooted earlier on this evening and my USB keyboard wouldn't work, tried rebooting a few times and couldn't get it back.
So I plugged in my spare PS2 keyboard and that wouldn't work either.
Checked the device manager, both keyboards where showing up with a exclamation mark. Uninstalled/deleted both from the device manager, unplugged and rebooted etc..still showing with an exclamation mark. (tried both keyboards seperately)
The PS2 will work with the BIOS but not in windows
The USB will work in Windows but only the multimedia keys will work, calculator etc.. and the USB won't work in the BIOS all the time, sometimes it will, sometimes it won't.
Have reset the CMOS battery, that didn't work. Have uninstalled the network card, that didn't make any difference.
Both keyboards work fine when plugged into my laptop. The motherboard is only 3 months old. The USB ports work fine with other stuff, so I know they're not broken.
When troubleshooting via the device manager it says it cannot find the hardware device, yet when I plug the keyboard in it recognises it and the little thing pops up to say new hardware found etc..
Have had a few probs with the keyboard over the last few weeks, it'll stop working and I'd have to reboot to get it going again...the same happened on my old system with the PS2 keyboard (seperate motherboard) but the USB keyboard is only a few weeks old and the whole system is brand new...
I'm completely lost as to what's going on and would really appreciate any advice or help
Thanks
