Default Firewall On Router??
Is it correct that all routers have a built in Firewall?

I went into a local computer shop today to ask about setting up a home network so I can access files that are on my PC using my laptop and vice-versa as I was having problems setting it up. He told me I didn't need a firewall installed on my PC and laptop as the router has a built in firewall. Just checking this is correct before I uninstall them

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Yes routers do come with firewalls,however I would not uninstall windows firewall you may need it for the future?

I'm not using Windows firewall, I'm using Comodo on PC and Zonealarm on Laptop

But how do you know if the firewall on router is working properly as I've never had any alerts saying that anything has been blocked like I do with Comodo or ZoneAlarm.

Can you get to the routers firewall settings?
