I have an acer aspire 5600. Neither my touchpad or keyboard works proparly. I think it happend after I installed a vista imitation on my XP computer. The touchpad and keyboard stopped working, so tried to reinstall xp, but that didnt help... next i installed vista, and still it doesnt work proparly. But there is a strange thing about it, when I run vista in Safe mode, the keyboard and touchpad works perfect, I am actually writing this thread in Safe mode.
So can you guys please help me fixing this mess ? Its really annoying

You installed dodgey vista?now you cannot install xp and laptop playing up?The easiest way is to buy and external case that turns a laptop into an external USB hard drive then plug into another pc and format as a slave.Then replace into laptop.Format with xp.
Or have you got an external hard drive or a flash pen large enough to boot the laptop as if it was internal drive?

Also before installing Vista you need to check if your laptop or pc is compatable?It sounds like yours is not.
Or you could look for vista drivers that maybe sutable for your laptop.However you did use dodgey vista so lets get xp back on there

no, my pc is vista compitable, and i have downloaded all drivers. and remember everething works fine in safe mode in vista, and the keyboard and toucpad didnt work on xp after i formated it with xp either, thats why i tried vista... maybe the something with the bios?

Have you got a plug and play USB mouse you can plug in to see if that would work?

Ok lets see what can be done?So have you still got bad copy of Vista on the laptop?Was there problems with keyboard and mouse before you installed vista?SO you installed vista and same thing keyboard and mouse still would not work?


Did you install Vista hopeing that it would cure the keyboard and mouse problems?

If this is the case then I think maybe the keyboard and mouse are broken?
