Default Keyboard problem

I have a Dell latitude CPx HT500 laptop and I have a small problem. The problem is that when I try to write things in Word or whatever some of the letter buttons I press come up with numbers. Now the buttons I push have little blue numbers on them
Does anyone here know how to disable this?
Thanks in advance,
George

Are these little blue numbers the numbers that show up when you are trying to type letters?
There should be something in the Control Panel/Keyboard
