Hello Starz24, welcome to PCHF.

The wireless keyboard and mouse can be a little bit of a pain sometimes, as you need to sync them with the wireless USB adaptor, by pressing the small miniswitches on each of the device. Sometimes these need to be done in order, so check your manual for further details.

As for your old keyboard and mouse, as long as there has been no additional devices installed that haven't been listed above, it's just a simple matter of waiting for XP to re-install those devices. At the logon screen, you may need to wait for a couple of minutes, and the keyboard and mouse will start to work shortly after.

Failing that, a hardware issue/damage to the usb ports themselves may have occured. Try using frontal USB ports if available.

Go into the BIOS via the key labeled DEL or DELETE. Then Press F10. Machine will restart & then if no wireless KB/Mouse is there then restart otra ves......hit F8 after the beep & choose safe mode. then reinstall the CD for both Key-Board & Mouse. Restart & yur prob 'might be gone'. See that first then we'll see.

AS far as the forum tech said; ya; there are little buttons that you have to hit in order to attempt to make it work....
