I recomend TDK or logitech. Sony is fairly good too; but yeah... I would stay away from cheapies... sound will be raspy and junky and microphone will be Sh**ty as it will use a cheap circuit to switch out 'background' noise. (blocking your voice and chopping it all up at inappropriate times.) Spend at least 60$ US/AUS. the better ones cost around 150$

You probably can find an expensive one on an auction site such as ebay for at least ½ off the retail price.

It depends what your looking to use the headset for, communicating with friends .. obviously ... but if for gaming, you want to have good quality speakers and not just a good quality microphone.
Steelsound do some fantastic gaming headsets around your price range. I use steelsound h3's for all sorts of tasks now, from gaming to talking to my mother. eBay would probably be your best bet.

Never used ebay, my friend has for MTG and buys $100's of stuff but I myself have had no experience and don't know whether it's actually trustworthy. But i will consider it as an option.
Today in the city i was looking around and saw Logitech Premium (think it was called premium) 350 for $60 which looked alright, but i'll go look on ebay now. I'd only really be using headset for talking on skype and steam games, as I use my speakers for all other games (and steam if i dont want to use microphone on that). Although is it possible to channel sound through both speakers and headset at same time? I usually just split it up so games is speakers and skype is headset. |

OK just looked at them now, which ones actually meant to be better H5 or H3, cause only aussie one is H3 at $86, 5H is around 25$ USD.
Ok well postage is also $25 USD, so it's around the same price, which is a bit expensive for me atm but i'll keep checking Last edited by Pyrokar; 10-17-2007 at 09:26 AM. |
