Default [Fixed] Very Annoying Mouse Problem...

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of an issue with my mouse. It seems that whenever I play games (and sometimes when I'm just on the desktop) it randomly disconnects for about 1 second and then reconnects. In case it matters, it's a Microsoft Habu.

I really don't want to go out and buy another one (it cost me $70). Is there any kind of fix you might be able to recommend?

Edit: I think it's dead now. My computer won't recognize it when I plug it into any usb port. Looks like I'll have to buy a new one.

Will someone please close this thread?

Red face Re: [Fixed] Very Annoying Mouse Problem...

My offer of help:
That mouse is laser/infrared. I had that problem before too. If I understand correctly. I would move the mouse and it would lock up for a second or two randomly. I called about it and found out that number one, you might check your mouse pad. If it is dirty (sweaty hand playing games will do it over time), then you might wash it or buy a new one. The red beam has to be reflected back to the mirror in order to function. Red prefers lighter colours, white/silver being the most reflective.
You may also try reinstalling the drivers via the CD that came with it. The drivers are very important for that mouse since it is not standard generic mouse format. It is also possible that the lens/mirror is dirty too on the mouse where the beam is emitted/reflected back to. Lastly, if you ever got mad and slammed the mouse on the desk/wall/floor really hard when you lost a round or two, it may of damaged the delicate alignment on that Habu.
Hope this gives some insight & help. If you already bought a new one, then that is good. I try to close this thread!
