i have windows xp running on a laptop and have a problem with a keyboard. i have got an additional keyboard that i plugged into a usb port so i am using that one instead of the one built into the laptop. when i unplug the addition usb keyboard my laptop keypad works but when i press some of the letters like U it types number 4 instaed. Is there a way i can adjust my settings so this won't happen?

Hi georgeblighster, welcome to the PCHF.

I think what you'll find, is if you turn off numlock before you unplug the usb keyboard, you won't have the problem.
