Have been Googling around, most sites seem to be for linux. Wish I had enough ram for a livecd. A few sites that do sound promising are subscription-only. Anybody have any more suggestions or shall I wipe it and go to linux in hopes of having a working driver just show up.

Gmtyrant... I have done some more research and it appears that the Accupointer function is part of the keyboard so no drivers are needed....You might try cleaning the pointer and see if that helps. Use the following tip...

If the AccuPoint cap is oily, remove the cap and clean it with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. To remove the cap, firmly grasp the cap and pull it straight up. After cleaning the cap, position it on the peg and press it into place.

HINT:The peg is square, so be careful to align the cap's hole with the peg.
