Helo fufu,

This certainly sounds like a hardware problem. If the PC has been moved, then there is a chance that something is loose. Open you PC. Sometimes the USB is onboard, and sometimes you will have a USB card. If it is a card, remove it (there is normally only 1 screw holding it in place), and then re-insert the card.

Do we even know if it's a USB or PS/2?

first check your bios... on boot up you will get given options either depending on wot type of machine it is but u will need to get to the bios screen.. on there u can see if ps2 ( connecter for keyboard mouse) have been enabled. if usb then make sure u have the ports enabled, if they are then it will be a loose wire... hardware.

IF you don't have a PS/2 mouse, you're not going to get there...the system will not know how to know it's there. Same with the KB.

Sorry MadMonkey.... it's programming. No matter the OS... if it can't read the periferals (sp?) it doesn't know what it is supposed to do... common mistake.
