Default Microsoft RC6 Remote

Hi all, I'm new to all this so trying to find my way round, I have just built a MCE PC with MCE 2005, everything works fine with the excption of the RC6 MCE remote, this Remote is USB connected and shows up in the USB port devices as EHOME USB reciever, but it does not do anything at all, I've spent hours trying with no luck. Even the ASUS TV card come with its own remote and I could'nt get that to do anything either. I must be doing somthing wrong but what I just dont know. I look foward to your replys.

Hey Pelsham,

Welcome to PCHF again, lol. We have a great team of techs here, and I feel certain that we will be able to help you resolve this frustration.

It would be very useful for you to post the details of your troubleshooting to date, both to assist you, as well as others who may encounter this problem.

Not sure if you've seen it, but there is an extensive discussion about just this issue, including a replacement driver for the remote at greenbutton.com. This link is the summary, but it does have a link to the complete thread, including the MCEIR version .18 driver. MCE IR Blaster FAQ

If you haven't read this yet, it may help determine if you are indeed doing what is necessary to set up your remotes, as it gives very detailed information about all aspects of the remote setup.

Looking very much forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
