Default Dell Inspiron 9300 AC Power Adaptor problem

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop that is about 3 years old. The last time I attempted to use it, the battery was fulled drained and it did not recognize the AC power adaptor that came with the unit.

I have tried 3 different outlets in 2 facilities to ensure that it wasn't the outlet. I have tried to check the indicator on the battery, but it is so drained that nothing lights up. I reseated the battery, checked all the connections (adaptor to wall, adaptor to flat cord, cord to computer). All seems fine.

The last time I tried it - where I typically charge it in my home office - the adapter box actually was beeping, but there is no recognition on the laptop - no charging light, etc. and I cannot power it up.

Ideas? I cannot find this addressed - did see one other post about the same problem in a Dell user forum, but no response to that person or to me.

Hello Gomdal and welcome to the forum.
Can you remove the battery completly and then try to power up with just the charger...This is a standard operation for testing your system.
