I recently bought a new computer, and I can only press so many keys at once, I never had this problem with any other computer. Is it my keyboard or the computer, I already tried upping the keyboard buffer but it doesn't help, it's a HP multimedia keyboard if that makes any difference.

Hi Bpark, and welcome to the PCHF!

This is most likely an issue with the keyboard. HP/Compaq keyboards are designed as a package to come with the PC and as such aren't designed to accept the amount of key presses required by the average gamer.

I used to use a couple of these keyboards at my old work, and because I can type so fast, I was also experiencing the same issue in Windows.

Thanks GaRHar, it's nice to know all I gotta do is get a decent keyboard. Hengis, I would expect Dell to be better, not that I know all that much about computers, but dell markets to a much wider range. I probably would have bought one, had I not been so limited in funds, I got a HP Pavilion, P4 Ht 3.066mhz, 512 ddr2, 160 gig hd, AND a Radeon x1600 Pro 512 mb all together for $700(Canadian), the same Dell was $650 w/o the video card.

Thanks Guys!!

No problems Bpark.

Incase you're wondering - Logitech keyboards are great, and so are Microsoft keyboards...Logitech are slightly better however. If you want a good gaming keyboard - G15

It's a bit more expensive, but it's perfectly designed for the gamer, and it even has a switch that will turn the windows key off, as that used to be a probelm to a lot of people...
