Network Card Problem!
First of all, I would just like to apologize if I've posted this in the wrong forum, (I tried, I just didn't see any other one that seemed to fit what I need help with!) and also to say hey, because I'm new here! =)
Okay, basically, my computer is pretty old, and it never came with a network card. I'm running XP Home SP2 and because I wanted to set up a wireless network at home so I could browse the net wirelessly on my laptop. I went out and bought a wireless router, a wireless card for my laptop (which is all working just fine although the router is a little hard to configure!) and then realized that I couldn't all make it work together without a network card for my desktop.
Being brave, I installed it myself this morning, and it all went in fine, until I booted the computer back up and when Windows went to detect and install the hardware, it said that it had not undergone Windows Logo Testing or something similar to that, and it would not continue with the install. Now give me some credit here, I actually have looked around for answers on the net, but every screenshot I've studied had just shown a "continue anyway" or "cancel" button.. I wasn't even given the option to "continue anyway", all I could do was hit OK. I guess what I'm trying to ask (sorry for the long-winded explanation!) is if there is any way I can get around this and install the network card anyway?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
