Question keyboard glitches

Hi, I'm new here. Having a wierd problem- at times, letters won't appear and the arrows won't work either. The letters affected are 'n' and 'b'. See, now they work but at any time I could be typing and "no 'n' or no 'b'!!
Has anyone had a similar problem? I am using Windows XP but the computer itself is 6-8 years old (Old in computer years! So my son (age 35) says).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cybergrammy

Welcome to PC Help Forum cybergrammy.

Sounds like your "mature" keyboard may have started making the move to the great peripheral heaven...either that or it may need a darn good clean and a blast with a can of compressed air.

Welcome cybergrammy.

Hengis is right in assuming it's either extremely dirty underneath the keys, but I am inclined to agree more with his first statement - that the keyboad is actually on its way out.

Your son is also correct, 6-8 years is a very long time to have the same computer for. I personally upgrade my computer once every year and a half or so (but i'm a bit of a geek).

Probably right about the cleaning-- with those 2 keys right next to each other, anyway. Especially with 6-8 years of use-- probably built-up debris-- (you'd be amazed)
