[Pending] the new sony DVD803E handy cam

Has any one else used this wonderful machine yet?
iv had mine for 2 weeks and i still cant get my pc to recognise that its running on fire wire. and i cant get it to capture. iv un and re installed both the cam and firewire. i have no idea what to do now. Any ideas?-
