I seem to be having a small problem with my USB devices. It now seems that only some of them work. The front 2 refuse to recongnize anything connected to it. ( My MuVo NX, my mum's V200 and my Nokia phone.) Gives some error of hardware not installed properly or doesn't recongnise it at all.....

Now the ones at the back are starting to act a little funny. I tried to connect my phone to the back, but Windows gave some error about hardware not installed properly....Then suddenly it was recongnized.....

I'm on a MSI 875P MB with 6 USB 2.0 ports at the back and 2 2.0 ports in the front, but throught USB 1.1 connectors. I've updated Windows and scanned for viruses, spyware etc with Spybot, adware, Norton and Anti-spyware and its clean, but the problem still persist.

Anyone help on this is appreciated. :-)

I have had a look at the MSI site and they recommend getting the USB 2.0 drivers for XP from Windows Update as they are certified etc...

The USB ports on the front of the case probably go via a long(ish) cable to a "header" on your motherboard. Have you been inside the case recently and possibly dis-lodged them?

Saying that, it sounds like a Windows issue. Try deleting all the USB components from the "Device Manager" and then re-boot. When you are prompted for the driver just use the new one from M$.
