My Dell Inspiron 8600 needed a new AC adapter, and so I bought a Targus 70W adapter and it says:
The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Pleast connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or higher for best system operation.
Is this a process that is running in the background that distinguishes Dell products so you have to use them, or is it in the hardware?
