hi i cant get the mic to work under xp ? ive done all the normal things make sure mic unticked etc, mic works ok on my sons pc running 98. i cant think wot else it can be, i know mic works ok, thing is my sisters pc is the same spookie

Go to:

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices Properties > Voice Tab and then click on Test Hardware...tell us what happens

Hi thanks for the reply, ive done as you said and it ran the test says its all ready to run but the mic still dont work, ive got sound thats fine but the mic it just dont wanna no.

HI C/F yes it worked fiine under win 98 and m/e, just xp it wont, im running xp pro and my motherboard is a asus a7v880 WITH ONBOARD sound, even in my old motherboard the mic wouldnt work in xp

Doing me head it, i bet its some thing silly and when i get told or find out i will feel silly lol

Did it come with any software, if so try installing the drivers again, or if not have you tried a system restore?

...erm...I don't want to sound like I'm taking the you know what but is there a little switch on the mic? Is it in the "off" position?

no theres no switch? just plug in a go (well thats the plan) as ive said works fine on win98 and m/e? just wont go on xp pro

im just downloading the newest driver to see if that helps

well got latest drivers and still nothing, wot can be stoping it driving me madd now
