Not personal knowledge but it falls in to the lower end of the ADSL market. Reviews seem balanced but as to be expected for the cost and manufacturer: Reviews: Thomson Speedtouch 330 USB ADSL Modem (DSLBB607SL)

the reason i asked is because my new internet provider says that if i use a router instead of 330 modem i wont get any drop outs so have bought a netgear router with built in adsl modem,i hope they are correct,if not then the way i feel i will be on a war footing with a certain isp soon.

I would say that information from them is rubbish! I would be really interested to see stats from them to back that up...

Sure the 300 isn't a quality modem but to say that it will drop out more than *any* adsl equipped router is a broad sweeping statement. Who is the ISP?

hi the isp is Fast.co.uk | The UK's highest rated ISP for Support & Customer Service | Home
what happens is it drops out and reconnects at a lower speed two or more times in the evening and in the day sometimes, the same as it did with orange, but on odd occasions it will stay connected for 48 hours continuously.so methinks you are right and isp is talking porkies, fast though has much better customer service than orange could hope to have.

Can you *borrow* another modem or router for a day or so to see if you can run a test?

{ahem} Argos have a "no quibble" 14 day money back returns policy.
