I have an HP Pavillon dv9000 series with a built-in webcam, and I am running AOL instant messenger version 6.5.

My camera is fine.

AIM is fine.

However, I cannot use my webcam for video in AIM itself, although for any other program it works perfectly. Is there any sort of file or update I can download to fix this?

I have looked on both the HP and AOL messenger sites to no avail.

Have you tried downloading Live messenger 8?Try it see if webcam works with it.

Have you installed the drivers for this webcam?

Look in device manager and see if imaging devices are listed in there or any thing with a yellow symbol.If there is this means it needs installing.

You can transfer all your messenger contacts to it with not trouble.
