Default Keyboard Hardware Compatability problem????

I have XP installed on my PC - late last week my keyboard suddenly stopped working - in the device manager for the keyboard I get an error message stating 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)'. The drivers listed for the keyboard are Kbdclass.sys, Kbdhid.sys, WdfCoinstaller01005.dll (Microsoft_ and LHidFilt.sys (Logitech). I have tried to unistall/reinstall the drivers, unistall/reinstall the keyboard and search for updated drivers - nothing seems to make a difference. I even purchased a new keyboard/mouse and that didnt help either. In all cases the mouse works but for some reason the keyboard does not seem to work. There are function keys on the new logitech keyboard that work (email/home page etc) but the rest of the keyboard does not! Is this a hardware compatability problem??? Is there a solution????

(PS. I am typing this on my local library PC)

Hi newfan - does your keyboard work in safe mode?
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers from within safemode and have you tried "Last known good configuration"? Long shot i know, but worth a shot.
