Default memory card reader problem

hi all, not sure if ive got the right section to post this!! My girlfriend has an advent 3118 desktop pc and has recently done a complete reinstall of windows xp (cos i broke it!) everything is now workin fine except for the onboard memory card reader.. nothing shows in MY COMPUTER or in the SEND TO submenu.....can anyone help???

I looked at the website for Advent computers, and it doesn't seem like Advent is in business anymore, or atleast they don't update the website. If you can't locate the drivers CD that came with your computer, I would suggest buying a new memory card reader. They're inexpensive (can be had for about US$30 or 21 Euros), and not very difficult to install.

thanks for the reply...its not a huge problem...its just a bit annoying that theres a bit of the pc not working... this is the error code in Device Manager is...Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. (Code 34).... dunno if this helps anyone help me!!!!

have u tried uninstalling it in dev manager rebooting then add hardware from control pannel?
