Default [Pending] USB problems... "device has malfunctioned"??

OK, it seems like my USB ports (all of which are USB 2.0) on my PC do not work. Except my printer works, and it's plugged up via USB. (I don't get how one USB port works, and the rest don't...) But whenever I try to plug up anything else to another USB port, I get a message saying, "USB device has malfunctioned." But I know there's not a problem with the devices (such as my iPod, a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connecter, etc.) because they work perfectly fine on my laptop.

Oh, also, I checked in the Device Manager, and there's no ! marks and according to it, all USB ports are working fine. So, what could be the problem and how can I fix it?? Please help and it will greatly be appreciated. =D

This might sound like a stupid question to you... but it's just that I've never had to do anything like this before...

But, how would one go about updating the drivers of the USB ports?? lol

They're all telling me that it couldn't find any software that is better than the current software I have installed.

For USB drivers, try this link - Download details: Update for Windows XP (KB822603)
