Also; what do you mean by installing XP? Like.. My vista will be gone for good?

You can install any Operating System you want. It looks like you have Vista from the looks of your HJT. Before the format, do you have any data you absolutely need? We can back that up to CD's or an external hard drive easily enough.

If we can move forward without that step then, please let me know and we'll go through the process of the format.

We'll need the discs that came with your operating system. One should be the OS itself, and others should be the device and hardware drivers we'll need to install after formatting.
