svchost is always near the top with about 20% to 40% of the process and Internet explorer an d firefox differ the same in the processes as well when their running.

My apologies for the delay in your thread. Elpmek has taken some personal time away from the forum and I didn't get all of his work picked up.

If you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate it if you might download Process Explorer. It's a more detailed version of the Windows Task Manager. You can hover your mouse over the svchost.exe processes and find out what exactly they contain.

Another option is to perform a Diagnostic Startup by going to Start -> Run -> type

msconfig {enter}

Select Diagnostic Startup

Please let us know what you find from either of those tools.
