try it in safe mode, see if it shows up there. If it does, try removing it in safe mode and let me know.

thanks,

go to start > run > msconfig > tick diagnostic start up, that will force it to start in safe mode. Just be sure to tick it back to normal mode when done.

thanks,

well i trued that and i get an error after i click apply saying i need to be administrator or something but i am administrator as i can disable and enable system restore as well as my user account being visibly listed as administrator.. so despite that error when i click ok (after apply) i get the error again then it asks if i want to restart.. i do so and boot up under my account again this time being in something called diagnostic mode which is visibly different that safe mode as the background isnt black with "safe mode" in each corner of the screen nor are all the icons huge like they usually are in safe mode... i open hijackthis and try to fix the file listed and it still doesnt go away when i run a new scan after clicking fixed checked

well, it's an empty file, it's just annoying that it's there.

Other than that, how's the rig running?

thanks,

v
