Ok, Because you mentioned recently updating Adobe, it looks like it may have added the quick start icon to your start-up.....

Go to Start - Run then type in msconfig look in the startup tab and see if there is anything that says Adobe

Ok, just so we can rule out Adobe, can you un-install Adobe reader, Restart your PC and see if the icon is still in the system tray

Go into msconfig;

Start > run > type msconfig (and hit enter) > startup tab > un-check anything with "Adobe" > click ok > re-boot and test.

Hi Hengis, there is nothing there for adobe. I am afraid the new icon is some sort of spyware or something and was hoping to run some sort of program to find it and get rid of it. It doesn't do anything if I right or left click on it and there are no pop-ups or freeze up , everything seems fine and thats what worries me. Can I run some sort of scan to find it and get rid of it?
Thanx Again,
Jim

Hey Jim, if you are worried about infection it may be worthwhile following the instructions in the Prework link in my sig, that way we can check your logs for anything untoward
