Unhappy Thumbnail view in Explorer

Hello..

I've been recently cutting up tilesets, and saving them in a big folder, so this would mean i had alot of files in this folder, after i did this, i went to my folder called "shots". i usally view it with "Thumbnail view" on, anyway, it showed the thumbnails ok, but then the text of the filenames didn't show. then i went back to my C:/, and the same thing happened. when i went back to my old folder, i copied all my files from shots, and made a new folder with the same files, it was okay, but when i renamed it back to shots, the same problem occured. This same problem has happened to be before i reformatted my hd, but the curse has came back apon me, I really need to fix this problem, as it is killing me to the bone...

I think i'm positive that i have no virus, cause 1, This has happened before, and 2. It just now happened this day.

well, virus or not, it certainly is a different problem. Is the data still in the folder? Just that all your folder icons are changing and the text for the folders disappearing?

IMO, that sounds like malware, and I don't think it can hurt to click on prework in my signature and follow the prompts. I've seen stuff that causes this effect before, so my knee **** reaction is going to be malware. At the very least, let's rule that out first, ok?

Thanks,

v

Welcome to PCHF hello!

Id say malware maybe too, please rule it out then.

Follow the PCHF Prework link in my signature and then post back here a Hijackthis! Log and an AVG Antispyware Report. Then a member of our security team will check it over for you.
