I just installed an Epson Workforce 840 on a wireless network.
I am using Win7 Pro with an AMD dual core processor ans Dlink wirless N router.
Previous installation of an Epson Workforce 600 on a different computer worked perfectly.
I followed the install directions that came with the printer using a USB cable when told to so that the computer would not install the wrong drivers. A
All worked well, printed a test page & everything was good.
The scanner icon on the PC would not work. This was installed be the Epson software, not a third party. Went to Espon site & found It did not pick up the correct address. This now worked along with Event Manager.
Now the problem. When I go to printing preferences, it opens but doesn't show the ink levels. After a few seconds they all turn grayed out.
I can use all the functions on these screens.
Going to the printer itself, I can check the ink levels.
Also installed on another laptop using WIN7 HomePremium. Everything works on this computer.
Has anyone seen this problem? If so, is there a fix?
Just so you know, I deleted the install and used the drivers and software from the Epson site. Same problem. I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove the installations. This program digs all the way into the hard drive and the registry to remove everything.
