Default Laptop near speakers = problem?

Hi,
I want to put my laptop near speakers that distorted the screen colour of a desktop computer (they are unshielded). I've put my laptop directly next to one and nothing happened to the screen - but are there any other negative effects from this?

Could be faulty connection on speakers or port that speakers connect to.

Check speaker cables do not have any breaks in them.

There maybe a fault on laptop.Does this happen when you are moving it about or random when stationary?

What speakers are they?

No. Its because of the monitors. I have my LCD monitor and Case next to speakers and neither is having issues. Aslong as you use an LCD(Liquid Crystal display) and not a CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) monitor. You wont have any issues with distortion. One tip though is dont put floppy disks near the speakers if you use them. Or hotel keys:P

Oh those crazy CRT monitors, mine went nuts when I had a fan on nearby. It's okay though, the superior image quality (imo) is worth the occasional prob
