Default Problem with floppy disk drive

I have only 1 floppy disk drive on my IBM Aptiva, the B drive. But for some reason the computer also says there is another floppy disk drive, drive A. Whenever I try to make a startup disk it attempts to format the A drive. And the real floppy drive is B! And for some odd reason the A drive has system files. All this frustrated me so I opened the case to find out. But there was no A drive hidden. So what should I do? Is there a way to change the B drive to the A drive without ruining my system? And is it ok to delete the old files in the A drive?

Hi TB,A/ drive is the floppy drive, uninstall B:/drive from device manager.

Then update drives for A:/ drive.

But why does whenever I put a floppy in the drive it the B drive recongnizes it? And like I said, the A drive has system files. Is it ok to delete them?

If you uninstall B drive A will kick in properly there is conflict.

TB I have given you my opinion. When we buy a new PC/Laptop with a floppy drive installed it comes as standard A drive.
