Default Acer Aspire 5630- power fault?

Hello everybody. Can anyone suggest help with this? I have an Acer Aspire 5630, Intel dual core,2Gb ram, Vista ultimate. Was working fine, but showed symptoms of possible loose charge socket. This got worse until I could not get a full o/s bootup, machine would power off and will not always reboot, showing no charge or power lights, let alone any other activity from drives etc. ( I stripped the mobo and checked then re-soldered anyway to my satisfaction; definately no issues there). Left overnight, especially with battery out, sometimes it will re start, but so far only in safe mode, and not always every time either. Would this suggest a power related hardware fault, or a power profile fault ( if profile / power save, why no power when re trying to turn it on?). I have 3 power supplies (one is brand new) and all check out perfect when metered. Maybe a voltage regulation or switch issue perhaps? I have 2 of these machines and they both have the same fault. Its most likely hardware, as power management requires the machine to be running, I think. Unless you know otherwise! If so, please tell me where I should be looking, before I go nuts! Thanx folks,,,,Dave

1. Suggest you look into your AC power source. Is your AC properly grounded?

2. If #1 is good, suggest you only plug one computer into the AC source without any other device being plugged into the AC source. This includes removing any AC strips you might be using.

Good Luck...
