I just bought a used IBM T-43p laptop that came with a mini dock. The laptop runs perfectly but shuts down when connected to the mini dock. When I first got it I put it on the dock and it worked perfectly, then shut the computer off. Later in the day I tried to restart the computer and it tries to start then shuts down. If I first start the laptop without the dock attached it runs fine until I put it on the dock, it will run for 30 seconds or so then shut down. Anyone??

I just figured out that it will only shut down if the docking station power supply is connected, it works fine running on battery power. The instant I plug in the a/c power adapter the laptop shuts down.

Apparently-- and this is strange (to me)
there are some things in that system's BIOS that can cause such behavior...
