Bringing it over here from the chatbox...

Basically the noise is very very high pitch and constant. It is also very quiet but definatly distracting, almost piercing. I did have my dobts if it was all in my head at one point but by putting my ear to the back on the pc - near the vent for the fan it does get MUCH louder. Any suggestions - ideas - help etc? I'll also add that the pc is only 2 days old and there isnt any dust etc...

Hate to tell you this but some manufacturers don't care what fans they use...and some fans simply do this.

- Ouch, I hope there is something I can do about it as everytime I sit here with it on I get a headache. I've taken a few pictures if they are needed.

Ok update - Im pretty sure this isnt advised but this thing is driving me insane. I just slid a very soft bendale piece of plastic through the vent so the fan would slow down and stop which it did. The sound didnt stop atall however.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !! Never stick things into fans...especially NEW PC fans!! Oh well, at least you have proved that it's not the fan making the noise

Give the PC manufacturer a call in the morning...I am certainly not going to talk you thru ripping your new PC apart!!

hehe - I had to see if it was that fan . Yeah ill call them at 9 tommorow morn when they reopen - will post back here what they say
