Default Help Please

So this morning i log on to my account and if i remember correctly i got an odd message from Spybot TeaTimer about Quicktime, it seems its is starting up now when i never told it to?

Also i get this message when i open up I.E, it happened to me this morning and this afternoon. This morning when i tried logging off i lots of odd errors and pop ups. So far i haven't experienced the odd errors and pops ups as i did in the morning but i am still getting this message when i open I.E. (see image below) What is this, and the cause?

And what is this tea timer message?

Also why is I.E highlighted? It is doing this with any icon i click and when i exit it, it still is highlighted? See this desktop picture of it. It never did that before....

i am not sure about the odd messages, cant make sense of them and i am not familiar with spy bot.
But the highlighted desktop items:
Right click
Arrange Icons By
Make sure "Lock Web Items on Desktop" is unchecked

"Lock Web Items on Desktop" was unchecked, so that can't be the issue i guess.

Edit: I tested "Lock Web Items on Desktop" i checked it to see what it looks like, that def. can not be the issue, because all the icons have a dark blue border around them, and does not look anything like the picture of I.E i posted here.

Peasonally --I rate Quicktime down with Realplayer products-- thinly-skinned spyware in my opinion.

if you are getting popups too-- it's time to run the Prework below and post the logs in HJT logs forum

Edit: I went to Yahoo! Answers to see if anyone else has been getting the I.E message. I had a feeling maybe it was related to my homepage, all of the replies were "yes" everyone got the message when they opened I.E, so i guess it is a problem with the Yahoo! homepage. So nevermind about the I.E message error. However does anyone know whats up with the highlighted icons?
