Default Install hard drive in HP system

Hiya all. This is my first post here so thanks in advance.I want to install a new larger hard drive in my HP system and use my old HD as a second drive. But I just want to copy the entire contents of my old drive to my new one so my settings etc remain the same. But I'm not sure if this will be as simple as it sounds because of HPs partitionined HD technique whereby you need system recovery discs to install a new drive.Hope this is clear(ish).

Hi and welcome to PC Help Forum

You should be able to achieve all of that thru disk cloning. Here's a guid: Beginners Guides: Cloning WindowsXP - PCSTATS.com - if you have questions after you have read that then post them here.

Also..There is an option on all hp's to burn "new"disc's.. You can then take those discs and install windows on the new hard drive...

This program will be in start..All programs..Recovery tools..
